William Rusher has been in the leadership recruitment business since 1969, nearly a decade before founding Rusher, Loscavio & LoPresto in 1977. Bill brings experience in executive search to his stewardship of the RLL firm, winning for the firm recognition as one of the elite executive recruitment organizations in the United States. Recognized one of the top 50 recruiters in the world by BusinessWeek, Bill is a past President and Director of the California Executive Recruiters Association, acting as leading spokesperson to the California Legislature in the early days of the executive search profession. He has been a member of the AESC Blue Ribbon Committee on Communications and Regional Chairman of the AESC for the Western States. RLL was an early industry leader in matters of accountability to clients (e.g., contracted timelines for searches).
Bill devotes much of his time to the most ambitious and challenging searches undertaken by RLL. Having started his career with New York Life Insurance Company, Bill first established his search reputation in insurance, finance, and related industries. Bill was employed on several occasions to recruit entire middle management and executive teams to build out mutual fund and insurance companies. In the case of the Sun Financial Group, Bill built out the company's distribution system from the time it managed $1 billion to the time it managed $100 billion. In manufacturing, marketing, sales, technology, telecommunications, software, and other business sectors, Bill has acted as the trusted advisor as company leadership - CEOs and Boards -- have been recruited, and as leadership has in turn recruited C-level and Director-level talent to support growth. Though his work has ranged from start-ups to Fortune 50 companies, he has particularly enjoyed his coaching relationships with corporate leaders, including the chief executives of companies like Sun Financial Group, Acacia Mutual, and the international accounting firm, KPMG. He particularly enjoys his recruiting and coaching support for rapidly changing small and mid-size companies. Bill represents the epitome of RLL consulting and search services throughout the Silicon Valley, Northern California, North America and abroad.
Bill has been an active investor in various start-ups and early stage companies in Silicon Valley. He is an active angel investor. His corporate board memberships are as varied as his interests, and have included Purasar, eplanning, McCosker and Finelite.
